Friday 07 April Update: This coming weekend, Football and Netball Clubs from the Hume and Ovens & Murray League will host the inaugural KICK 4 NICK event.
So what exactly is KICK 4 NICK, and how did it come about? Nicks Support Crew chatted with Andrew Stuart, the President of Jindera' s Football & Netball Club who explained "...KICK 4 NICKstarted as an idea & a way to support Nick & his journey after his accident & with the help of Andrew & Alana Wilson, the support of the Hume & Ovens & Murray Football Leagues along with 2AY it has gained momentum that we hope will see become in some format an annual event".
How good is that, folks!
Andrew also gave a rundown on the KICK 4 NICK competition and types of fundraising activity you can expect to see this Saturday at home games in Round 2 of Hume and Ovens & Murray leagues.
THE KICK. SO whats the actual competition you ask? Andrew explained, "...The Kick will be into a truck or tractor tyre with the adults from approx 40 metres & the juniors from approx 20 metres".
Where there is a competition, there must be prizes up for grabs right? Thanks to a bunch of supporters the following goodies were donated and will be offered as prizes to each participating club to be given away at half time: 1 x Sherrin Wizard Senior Football/2 x Sherrin Junior Football
What time will the K4N comp (excuse the pun) kick off? In the Hume League, the actual Kick for Nick will take place at half time in the senior game - so approx 3.30pm, with 2AY starting their broadcast of The Critic from 11am.
Clubs who will be running the competition in ROUND 2 in HUME LEAGUE are: Jindera vs Billabong Crows Murray Magpies vs CDHBU Brock/Burrum vs Lockhart RWW Giants vs Holbrook Osborne vs Culcairn Please note: Howlong & Henty Clubs have dedicated Round 2 to supporting Karl Jacka’s family at this weeks home game out at Howlong. We send our love to the Jacka family.
In addition to the Kick 4 Nick - Kick a Footy into a Tractor Tyre Competition, all participating clubs in the Hume Football and Netball League, O & M Football and Netball League will be running a mother of a raffle and will be accepting donations on the day.
And there is more! Jindera Football Club will be donate up to 20% of the gates takings taken at tomorrows Round 2 home game to Nicks Journey Fund.

250 pairs of Purple Socks have been donated byAlana & Andrew Wilson from Albury Sportspower & will be proudly worn by Jindera and North Albury Netballers. Socks will be available for sale at the Jindera and North Albury games for $10 with all proceeds going directly to Kick for Nick/Nick’s Journey. Earlier today, Alana Wilson from North Albury shared "... Hopper girls are very proud to support and be apart of #teamnick".
